To This Day features a collection of true stories from anonymous individuals. The stories explore the relationship between trauma, suffering and memory. The texts have been transcribed from interviews, and this is reflected in their literary style that references spoken language.

The use of repeating imagery is used to signify the overwhelming feeling memories have for the individuals, or how they may often reappear throughout life as a reminder of the experience they went through. Each story ends by making the final clarification as to how the painful experience still affects the life of the individual.  This is represented by a feeling, which is related to an object or environment, represented through the images.
